Woodblock Dream

Every child comes with the message
that God is not yet discouraged of man.
Rabindranath Tagore

In the summer of 2001 I took a woodblock print class through Continuing Studies at MECA, taught by a wonderful print maker and furniture maker named Jeff Wolfe. Throughout the class I used my dream journals for source imagery. In 1999 I had a dream about my son, Andy. In the dream Andy was on a beach and he was lifting a baby boy out of a box shaped hole in the sand. The baby was delighted to see him. I used this image along with a photograph of Andy holding his newborn son, Brey, in 2001, to make this woodblock print. I also added some images of adult male hummingbirds to the mix.
