Ahna Reichman, the young woman who modeled for my portraiture class on Tuesday, is acquainted with this artist, and a big fan of his work. She urged me to look him up. I'd never seen Barnaby Whitfield's work before - it brings to mind the work of John Currin, Odd Nerdrum, Julie Heffernan...These are all pastels on paper, though, not oils!
