Beauty and the Beast Triptych

I've started this triptych - here is the raw beginning - about Beauty and the Beast. I'm fascinated with the anima/animus concept, and how we all possess both male and female aspects. In fact, I dreamt last night of a very hairy man with no penis...
So this is how I began my Garden Sampler Series, by cutting up my drawings - in this case several figure studies that I am using with other collaged elements. I've taken apart an old Beauty and the Beast Golden Book, some images of Martha Graham, and Nan Goldin (from her Ballad of Sexual Dependency series). This triptych is also about the avoidance dance we do in relationships and how we often seek love from someone who is not emotionally available.
