The Spell Has Been Lifted!

YELLOW.

BLUE.

Thunder clouds.

First brocolli harvest.

Finally, the wash back on the line!

Cilantro.

ORANGE!

Garry planting a peach tree, with Sal's assistance.

The moon rising.
Oh, to see the celestial bodies once again! And colors other than gray and green, and shadows! Ahhhh.....
The relentless rain, wind, and cool gray skies duked it out with some desperately needed sunshine this past weekend, and it was nothing short of miraculous when that sun came out and stayed a while. Amazing (and important to remember) how profoundly affected we are by the light and the weather.

Abundance

A sweet harvest.

Wild strawberries at the edge of the woods.

Yellow Mallow.

Parsley and lettuce.

Green beans. Grass clippings make great mulch.

Garlic is forming scapes...

The tomato plants are happy!

Two rows of potatoes.

Rainboots and basil.

We are going to have a bumper crop of raspberries this summer!

Our garden.

Our rainforest...

Thunder and The Laying Hens...(good name for a rock band!)

The studio in the woods, with work station set up under a tarp...

Inside the studio...

Andy and Ocea painting the walls and finishing the floors. Looks so nice!
Flowers and produce, all from our own backyard. That's a Rhubarb Cream Pie - it was goood!

Almond Oat Scones with wild strawberries served on one of my Gramma's cake plates...
One of our female hummers.
I really can't complain about the rain...(we have had 24 days of it this month so far...)...not complaining, nope...

How Long Can You Tread Water?

The Rain in Maine is starting to be a Paaain!

The Old Red Herd
Thanks to Brenda over at Artslice, I've been introduced to the exciting work of this wonderful printmaker! That top image could be a self-portrait - it looks like me, and it is STILL RAINING HERE. Weather we like it or not. Ha ha. Get it? Weather? Whether? Weather? Argh - the rain is making me dotty!

Scenes from a Soggy Summer Solstice

Some pics from Sunday. Times like these, we have to make our own sunshine! An afternoon campfire, a strawberry shortcake (with loads of fresh whipped cream), a brilliant green grass snake, bouquets with wild daisies and rosa rugosa, and bare feet in golden straw...
