I'm currently re-reading A Midwife's Tale, The Life of Martha Ballard. I first read it years ago. If you've never read this book, you are in for a rare treat. What I love especially about this story is that it all took place near my neck of the woods, on the Kennebec River. What are you all reading this summer?

Sounds interesting.I have just finished 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zuzak. I really enjoyed it, it is very moving.
I love this book... I read it after your suggestion and later discovered a PBS movie production of this story at the library. Lately I've only been reading children's books... here's a great one: The House in the Night by Swanson and Krommes. (just won the Caldecott medal!)
I'll have to check it out. I was reading 'Frankenstein', the unabridged version by Mary Shelley, but I haven't stuck with it. Old fashion writing--long winded, but interesting if you have the time. So now I'm reading, 'Tea Time for the Traditionally Built' by Alexander McCall Smith. The new No.1 ladies' detective agency novel. I love these books (series)--thought provoking in a very simple way.
