Images from last week's Mixed Media Self-Portrait class at MECA. I went to the library and took out several books about Romare Bearden's collages for inspiration and then we all set to work making collage self-portraits. Lots of fun!

I'm teaching Intro to Print next semester, so I will once again have access to the big beautiful presses at MECA and the acid baths!!!

I'm such a fan of collage. On Fridays we do centers in my class, and one center is an art center. About a month ago 2 boys made a collage together with no instruction from me. It just spoke volumes about them and they were so proud they asked me to hang it on the wall.
Nice!! We had nothing like that in grade school!
