Yeah, it almost did! It's interesting, alot of people I know went to MECA had a very difficult time emotionally after graduation. Alot of them felt quite depressed afterwards. It feels like being on this wild ride and then suddenly you're kicked out of the speeding car and onto the curb. I've often thought about how graduates could use some prep for this - it's not talked about. Part of why I shared my story here. Some graduates I know were so burnt out from their senior year that they couldn't make art for two years!
I am an artist, an art teacher, a mother of five children, and a grandmother of four, and I live with my husband and our two cats in the woods of Woolwich, Maine. I teach drawing classes through the Continuing Studies Department at Maine College of Art in Portland, and now privately in my new (!) studio @ 72 Front Street, Bath. My blog 'Martha Miller' shares my art, my process, and my inspirations, and my blog 'Not Bad Thing' showcases my daughter Lisbeth's artwork and process. It is also where I share my experience as a mother of an adult child with special needs. You can see more of my artwork on my website @ www.marthamiller.com

I love the doodles--I've saved some of mine from highscool.
Wow, Martha... school will kill ya! (while you're in it, anyway.) Love those doodles too, they're fun to re-visit.
