New Portrait Project

Rachael with a Hockney as The Hanged Man, 2011
mixed media on Stonehenge, 30" x 50"

After a three month break from blogging, I'm back. I needed time off from most things digital this summer, to tend my garden, tend my house, and tend & mend myself. Fall and winter bring introspection and more time spent indoors, so here I be.

I've started a new portrait project of Maine artists and people involved in the art community. My first sitter was painter Rachael Eastman. She is pictured here posing in my Portland studio. Stay tuned for sitter number two...

So glad you're back, Martha. I can understand all the tending, especially during summer. It's a great time to unplug.

May I say, this model holds a striking resemblance to you and the many self-portraits you've shared in this space!

Hi Brenda!

Yes, time away from the computer is so necessary. It's getting crazy how hooked in we are as a culture to electronic gadgets.

These portraits are alot like my self-portraits! I'm feeling free to experiment...

I'll pop over for a visit soon!

I am so glad you are alright and blogging again!
I made a list of 25 luxuries... and you made it on the list- I would love someday to have a portrait drawn by you. If you are in Miami...
