A Stylin' Trio

Gravestone photo by Jon Simmons

My cousin Jon scanned this old family photo for me. Evidently the gent on the right is our great, great uncle, who died when he was only 25.
(He looks older than that here, but that was the case back then - people aged more quickly...I wonder if he fought in The Civil War? Boys as young as 14 and 15 fought, didn't they? That would age a soul...)
Love their suits, hats, ties, watch chains, and especially those boots! I'll be drawing his portrait for my series soon...

Whoa! Where'd he come from--would he be something like our great great grandmother or father's brother on our mother's side?

He was Gramma's uncle (her father's brother - a Congdon), which makes him Mom and Aunt C's great uncle and our great great uncle! His name was William - Gram's brother was William, most likely named after this uncle!
