El Greco







I bought this beautiful old catalog for two dollars at the Joanne Waxman Library this winter. What a score. It appears to be written in German, which I can't read, but only increases the sense of the book being an art object itself, with it's yellowed pages, and rich colored prints pasted to heavy brown paper pages that are stitched together with soft twine. El Greco's paintings are so passionate and expressive, and have a cartoon quality which I love...
