Sometimes
a drawing can't be rescued and must be put out of its misery! I tried to
resuscitate it. I had to do major surgery to reshape the face and move an eye. But we're talking pastels and pencils, not paint! It became way too overworked. It was already teetering on that edge, and today it toppled all the way over. It's
ok. I feel
glee when I finally decide a drawing is not working and I get to scribble all over it. And sometimes I even do
this...Not to worry - I will soon start another portrait of Cecilia from another photo...

Yeah, I have a friend that I've tried to do two paintings, several drawings and I haven't got it right yet. Go figure.

mmmm, very satisfying isn't it! I use the same process often - the ashes mixed in a little oil make a nice start to another piece :)
I'm always impressed by your courage! (burn, baby, burn!)
Oh no!
It must feel very liberating though!
Thanks for showing us that not all works of art work out!
