April showers turned into a downpour last night, but it did not deter the artwalkers in Portland! The streets were hopping with people and umbrellas. I stopped in to see several exhibits before landing at the Gilty Pleasures opening at Sanctuary Tattoo: Whitney Artworks, SPACE Gallery, Cygnet Gallery, to name a few. Saw some old friends and mingled with new friends - it was a fun night! I had wonderful feedback about my installation, and everyone kept telling me how it looks like it belongs in that space. Well, folks will certainly have alot to look at while they are laying there getting tatooed! I'm just grateful to have the thing installed. Now I can go look at it and think about how I might install it differently next time...hmmm...maybe I should get a tattoo while I'm sitting there pondering...

I'll bet they'll be some requests for tattoos from your wall piece--every one walking out, will have a little section of it tattooed--people walking on the streets of Portand will start to vaguely resemble your wall piece--other tattoo parlors will catch wind of the happening and ask you to decorate their walls--this could sweep across the land like wild fire!

Martha, you should totally get a tattoo. Maybe all you kids names inside of a heart, or a photo montage of your grand kids. You could cover your whole back with them. It would be cool.

Wow, that would really be something, Cory! If I ever had the courage I was thinking more along the lines of a teeensy hummingbird, maybe on one shoulder! How long did it take you to get your tattoo?
