Cave Dweller

Some details from Altared Self, and images from Lascaux. Brad Gailey made mention of cave paintings in his comment about my installation. This is an insightful reference - working on this self-portrait has felt urgent and ritualistic. I do wish that I had a larger space to exhibit - I would indeed pull this all apart as Don Gray suggested and spread it out. For now, it will have to stay contained. But the whole thing may just serve as a springboard for more source material in the future. Now I have to get over to my studio and finish it...
