Bluebird of Happiness

Who among us is not at a loss for words? Tears pour out. Tears of joy. Tears of relief. A stunning, whopping landslide of hope in a time of deep despair.
Michael Moore
I dreamed last night that a male eastern bluebird came hopping right up to my feet where I was sitting on my porch. I was amazed and delighted! I can count the times I've seen bluebirds on one hand, and I'd never had one come this close to me. It looked so sweet and beautiful. Immediately I feared for it's safety - I grabbed one of my cats who was already prowling around and called to my husband to come help round up the other cats and put them in the house. The dream ended with the bluebird sitting still on the porch and Garry and I scrambling to get those cats indoors.
I pray for Obama's safety.

Oh, and what's the man doing with a hammer on the flag post?? Pounding the post in? HA! Wouldn't he have some kind of plyers to secure the flag somehow?

I can't help but worry about that myself.

Martha, I miss-spoke yesterday... you all have won the award!

sue, you would be the one to ask such a question! hmmmmm...let's see. it looks like he is hammering the flag onto the (wooden) post, spacing the nails every few inches. he must be working pretty fast to have three nails hammered by the time that torn down British flag has only fluttered halfway to the ground. and where are the rest of the nails - in his mouth?

I think we all pray for his safety and his beautiful family's as well.

So inspirational to witness history, but I am sure angry about the deep mess they left for Obama and the country...the world, actually. It's like he has 2 1/2 strikes against him before he even begins.

The guy with the flag: Wouldn't you have to use two hands to set the nail? How does he stay on the pole?

Hi Don

I know! What a massive mess. There is huge expectation - it will be important to remember that we will all need to pitch in in different ways!
Yes, what a beautiful family. SO MOVING to see them together on that stage Tuesday night.

more about the guy with the flag...
Maybe he has something sticky on the bottom of his stockings??
