Del Kathryn Barton

You are What is Most Beautiful About Me, a Self-portrait with Kell and Arella.

I just stumbled upon this figurative artist's work this morning, Del Kathryn Barton from Australia. Barton won the Archibald prize for portraiture this year for her self-portrait,
You are What is Most Beautiful About Me, a Self-portrait with Kell and Arella.

The decorative quality of her work recalls Gustav Klimt...

and her drawing style makes me think of Egon Schiele...

Now throw in a little Gregory Gillespie...

and Alex Grey...

What other artists come to mind?

Oooh, I like her! I saw Schiele first and the patterns like Klimt as well. Love that portrait with her daughters. Thanks for sharing!

PS..about the scarf post - I think I'm a winter but now, I just wear whatever I want!! :)

Hi Brenda

You rebel, you! Bucking the color system and wearing what you want! I have friends who were absolute slaves to that seasons/colors thing in the 80's...
Funny.
