A year ago, Metamorphosis: A Journey of Dolls was on exhibit at Alex Rheault's space, drawing room, in the old State Theater building in downtown Portland. Alex and I conceived the idea for the exhibit together that January, and started the collaborative doll project that yielded the finished pieces for the show. You can double click on The Portland Phoenix article to get an idea about what sort of issues (ownership, control, craft, to name a few...) came up for the 18 artists involved in this project! I'll post next some pics from the opening last summer.
