Process

My cousin Del sent these pics that he took of me working on this couples portrait last weekend. Kind of fun to see the process! Have a great weekend!

These are great! I was already loving the portrait(s) when you first posted it... but it's always fun to see the process. Lucky couple to have such an energetic portrait of themselves at this time in their lives.

I'm so glad someone captured this! It's so cool to see you in action. I'm also amazed that you can do such a large portrait on a horizontal surface. I don't think I would be able to get any semblance of proportions if I did that. But you got it right, plus breathed a lot of youthful exuberance into it at the same time. You're pretty remarkable!

Hi Rob

You know what - I couldn't fit my easel in the car, so I used an old cupboard door set on the graound and leaned it up against that table for a good part of the time. So I wasn't working flat for most of the portrait. I much prefer standing at my easel with my paper at eye level!!
Thanks for the positive feedback. I have to finish this piece now which is the biggest challenge for me!
Glad to hear from you. Are you attending the Monday night drawing sessions at 1 Longfellow Square? Alex told me that she might put together a "one last show" this month of figurative work at drawing room...

I'll be at One Longfellow tonight (Monday), actually - and I will definitely contribute to the figure show if Alex gets enough people.
