Inner Self

A page from my Decorated Body journal. The Decorated Body was an art history class that I took in 2004 while attending MECA. At the beginning of one class, our professor, Aimee Bessire, asked each of us to do a drawing of our inner self. (Try it! This is a great exercise).
This drawing ties in with the quilt that I'm working on, and informs a piece of the installation that I'm designing using the quilt. I've been plugging away on this project - I will fill you in more in my next post!

What a unique idea, Martha! To draw/paint your inner self. I just might give this a try.

Lots of bright, glowing colors in your portrait.

I guess that means you're radiant inside and out!
